GENERAL INFORMATION

Arrangement of candles of an incandescence

Glow plugs are under the inlet channel.

If there are difficulties at start of the engine, measure at first an engine compression. If value of a compression is not enough, then at a low temperature not to start the engine.

The DDE monitor is equipped with memory of malfunctions of electric parts of diesel system of injection. In workshops of OPEL by means of the special device it is possible to consider codes of malfunctions.

Check of candles of an incandescence

For careful check (in the conditions of a workshop) it is necessary to use the ampermeter.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a casing of the engine and the pipeline of forcing of air over glow plugs.
2. Unscrew connecting cables from candles of an incandescence (shooter).
3. Connect the device for check of tension to positive (+) to a pole of the battery and check each glow plug.
4. If the light-emitting diode lights up, then a glow plug as it should be.
5. If the light-emitting diode does not burn, then the glow plug is faulty, replace.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove an inlet collector.
2. Disconnect cables (1 and 2), unscrew and check visually glow plugs. The burned tips of candles of an incandescence usually are a consequence of malfunction of nozzles. Similar malfunctions cannot be caused by damages in or on glow plugs.
3. If the burned glow plug (it is specified by an arrow) is found, there is not enough only its replacement. It is also necessary to check nozzles for pressure of injection and tightness (in the conditions of a workshop).

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Screw in glow plugs, the inhaling moment: 25 N. of m.

Prevention

The moment of an inhaling should not be more as the glow plug can fail.

2. Connect a cable of candles of an incandescence, screw a nut with 5 N.' effort of m.
3. Screw an inlet collector on a head of cylinders with 25 N.' effort of m, replace all consolidations.
4. Screw a support of the case of an oil filter and the pipeline of system of recirculation of OG on an inlet collector with 25 N.' effort of m.
5. Establish into place a casing of the engine and the pipeline of forcing of air.
