GENERAL INFORMATION

The diesel OMEGA engine is equipped with a turbocompressor. In a turbocompressor both turbine wheels are located on one shaft, but in cases independent from each other. Turbine wheels are put in action by exhaust gases. Wheels rotate a shaft with a speed up to 120 000 rpm. As the exhaust and soaking-up rotor are on one shaft, fresh air is pumped in cylinders with a constant speed of rotation.

Owing to the high volume efficiency (E) the power gain in such engines makes up to 100%. Increase in power is influenced by the pressurization pressure which in engines of cars lies ranging from 0,4 to 0,8 bars (pressure in tires about 1,8 bars). If pressure of pressurization exceeds the value established by the manufacturer, then in this case the valve opens perepuskny, and pressure decreases.

Along with engine capacity existence of a turbocompressor increases also torque that first of all well influences smoothness of operation of the engine. Unlike petrol engines because of pressurization in diesels it is not required to lower a compression as and on low turns injectable fuel is completely run.

The turbocompressor is an element which has to work with high precision. Therefore the expert is recommended to repair it only. As a rule, in case of malfunction of a turbocompressor it is replaced in a set.
